Epicurus says... so say I.

Epicurus a Greek philosopher once wrote:

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?

Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able but not willing?

Then he is malevolent.

Is he both able and willing?

Then whence cometh evil?

Is he neither able nor willing?  

Then why call him God?"

 

 

While this brilliant philosopher is thought to be an atheist in current Christian religion, he in fact was only stressing upon the thought that the Greek Gods did not concern themselves with humans. Thus, the Gods would not concern themselves with judgement in this life, or the next.

I however still have a combative response to the paradox above.
